I already Have a Black Moa chick which I have gotten with my ranger. I also have no intention of starting another character and going everywhere I need to do to collect the things I need and be in the areas I need to be in. The other pet was intended as a gift and not for farming / selling. I can make more gold farming then I could obtaining this mini-pet.

I do like the idea of them allowing Zho to perhaps drop another book yet if that character has not gotten the mini-pet yet and it's understandable to have restrictions of some sort so that the mini remains some what unique. My point was what happens to the gamer who doesn't realize they actually need this book ? Myself I'm aware of Wikki and other sites and should have looked into the matter but what happens to the person who thinks it's strictly just for clues or deletes the book like I did before talking with Katherine ?

OK, you mean you deleted book and you CANNOT get your minipet forever and ever with that character? hmm, that sucks! yeah, really sucks.

I don't know why Anet made it only once per character. They could have limited it to honeycombs, if they hadn't added them to a collector.

The way Zho's journal is acquired is a bit stupid too. I've deleted two of them because it's a waste of space. I don't regret it because mini pets aren't appealing to me. If I wanted to make one then the option is forever gone just because I defeated Zho in the process of either getting heroes or completing Magni's quest. It's a kind of deterrent in a way for some.

I deleted my book on my main pve char too

It'd be very kind if Anet decides to do something about it, but i'm not too fussed otherwise just have to wait until I can be bothered to do it on my other chars.

Is it not possible for them to just simply make it so you can only get one black moa chick per character rather than only 1 of zho's journal?

What I mean by that is, lets say its possible to get any of the materials (including zho's journal) as many times as you like. However you've already gotten the black moa chick on your character. When you go do FA and attempt to transform the materials into your black moa chick the game registers your character has already previously performed that action and the materials do not transform and rather stay as they are.

That way each character would be guaranteed to be able to get the black moa chick but would however be prevented from getting more than one. Zho's journal could still remain customized to prevent players from trading it and make obtaining the pet easy thus if it drops more than once it is useless for the person beyond the first time they got it.

The solution is really simple to implement, let us make infinite moa minis, BUT you cannot trade it.

The simple fix is to make Zho drop the book all the time it is not in your inventory. The book is customized to your char.

How do we ask the game designers to look at this now ? Like I said I'm not looking to make a million of these things. I'm only wanting to make sure a character can create the thing at least once if they want to.

Maybe ANET can implement some type of safeguard for Happy-Finger-Clickers. I think a lot of people have been in a situation where you have sold something you DIDN'T MEAN TO... OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOES!!! Did I just sell that???

Maybe a buy back option, right after you sell something.
Maybe a WARNING, are you SURE you want to sell that??? ONLY for Greens, Books, Customized items, and maybe Golds. Like when you use your trash it asks you.. Do you want to PERMANENTLY delete this item?

For selling stuff, you get a warning whenever you try to sell customized items. For trashing, you get a warning for everything. But you know how idiotproofing goes... people will still merch/trash important items anyway.

Don't think the book could be sold to the merch, it's the fact that it takes up space and it is simply given to you once whether you like it or not that's causing the problem. I wish they could limit the Incubator Kit instead of the book

Edit: may I suggest the OP change the title to The "Mini" Black Moa Woes to better reflect the discussion?

Simple fix I think is to be able to get the book whenever you fight Zho so long as you havn't gotten the mini moa. How hard of a fix could that be ? It's customized and of no use what so ever but to get the mini-pet.

If you want more than one black moa chick...get more than one character through the requirements.

If you don't want to spend that much time, then just buy one...they're cheap.

I guess there is really only a slim chance of anet willing to fix this, but I really think this should be brought to their attention as not to make the effort of what I think to be a very well thought out and fun quest to go to waste.

That doesnt help anyone though, how many people have still got a broken flute /tapestry shred etc and only recently since the release of gw:en have those items been used for something.

Checking wikis and fan forums would have helped nobody over the last couple of years with those items until gw:en was released, so checking up on items is not always helpful and not everyone knows where to check these things.
